Tree planting in the U.K. fell 71% short of Government targets in the last year. We must do better if we want to dramatically reduce our carbon emissions. The Labour Party is committed to reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2030 and to do that the first step is to plant more trees. Extinction Rebellion gave every MP a tree to plant in their constituency to help reach this target. I was given an English Oak - and I will make sure it is planted somewhere in Wallasey where everyone can enjoy it for years to come.
