Fizz Free February kicks off on today. It’s a brilliant campaign that aims to tackle problems with obesity and tooth decay by encouraging people to give up sugary fizzy drinks for a month.
One-in-three children are leaving primary school obese or overweight, and treating related illnesses like Type 2 diabetes is costing the NHS £10 billion a year, and we spend £50m on tooth extraction of under 19s.
#FizzFreeFeb is an important campaign to raise awareness of these issues and to help people reduce their sugar consumption.
Let me know if you’re making the pledge to #gofizzfree for February!
