Dame Angela Eagle MP Standing up for Wallasey
Like a third-rate conjurer, the Government hoped it could trick us all with the economic models for Brexit that were published today. They had modelled a No Deal scenario that isn’t going to happen, in the hope that it would be so catastrophic that Theresa May’s option would look good. Except, they haven’t even bothered to model the deal that the Prime Minister wants Parliament to vote on, instead choosing to look at the Chequers deal, which is also not going to happen.
It’s time that the Government finally listened to Parliament and published all the information they have on the projected impact of the actual deal, so that Parliament can actually take back control and make an informed decision.
You can read the economic assessments here.
The Bank of England also published a damning assessment.
