With her Government unable to command a majority in the House of Commons, and looking increasingly chaotic, the Prime Minister came to Parliament today to give an update on her terms for the future relationship with the EU. However, the draft agreement that Theresa May is so far short of the extensive trade deal that was promised in October last year.
In fact, the document is so vague, it doesn’t even mention frictionless trade, something that she said is vital to maintain British prosperity. This is nothing more than a botched, blind Brexit.
Instead, it contains 26 pages of vague, aspirational waffle that does little to clarify what the actual terms of Brexit will be, and does nothing to provide certainty for the country that jobs and the economy will not suffer.
The Prime Minister has failed to deliver the Brexit deal that our country needs, and Labour will not be supporting it. This latest draft agreement is nothing more than political camouflage to disguise the fact that the Prime Minster has not actually managed to negotiate a deal at all.
