These photos are of the amazing work that has been done recently to transform a small part of the centre of Moreton into a gardener’s paradise!

Oakenholt Day Centre, based just behind the Tesco Express, recently entered into the North West In Bloom and, along with Cllr Anita Leech, I was given a guide tour of the work they’d done. Steve, Morris, Nicola and Frankie were our guides and there was a real passion for the work that had been done and the beautiful flowers on display were a testament to that. They also showed me their exciting plans for the future which include growing more fruit and vegetables for the users of the centre.

After the tour, I popped into the monthly coffee morning held at the centre and spoke to service users and staff. It was clear there is a real love for the centre and a passion amongst the staff for the work that they do.

Thank you to all at Oakenholt Day Centre for making me feel so welcome. It was a really enjoyable visit and a good opportunity to see all the excellent work you are doing to improve your community.
