This September, I’ll be speaking on the future of Democracy and my book ‘The New Serfdom’ at the world’s largest philosophy and music festival HowTheLightGetsIn. The festival will take place in Hampstead Heath this September with a weekend of debates, talks, music, comedy, workshops and more.

I’ll be talking about:

Democracy in Crisis

‘We all believe in democracy – even Putin and Assad claim to favour majority voting. But in an age when the public can be so easily manipulated and misled, can we be sure that the people know best? Should we constrain democracy and hand more authority to experts? Or do we need more direct democracy, and for our representatives to be messengers of the people?’

Alongside myself, also speaking will be Research Director at Demos and author of The Death of the Gods Carl Miller, and political philosopher and ResPublica director Phillip Blond question the unquestionable.

I will also be doing a solo talk on my book, ‘The New Serfdom‘.
